Brief Status Report from the Call Committee
Dear Trinity Community,
The following is a brief status report from the Call Committee: The Ministry Site Profile that was approved on November 6th was promptly reviewed and accepted by the Central States Synod staff. That profile was then made available for review by all ELCA pastors who have expressed an interest in seeking a new call. In parallel, the Synod staff also reviews the profiles of call-seeking candidates to see which might be good matches for Trinity. Eventually the Synod will forward us a handful of candidate profiles that they recommend the Call Committee review. From there, after the Call Committee reviews these candidate profiles, the interviewing process may start with those of high interest to the Committee.
The Synod has cautioned us to be patient as (a) the number of openings currently exceeds the number of candidates, and (b) the Christmas season is a busy time for pastors, and most would prefer to not be starting an interviewing process during the holiday season. The Synod staff has assured us that they will do their best to provide us with a suggested slate for us to review as soon as they are able.
In the meantime, should any Trinity members be aware of candidates that they feel might be interested in Trinity, please confidentially contact Dave Luethy, the Call Committee chairperson. For obvious reasons, all ELCA synods, the Pastors involved, and their current congregations are interested in eliminating any disruption or negative impact that might occur related to rumors regarding pastors and possible moves. There is a process in place in which recommendations/suggestions can be considered, and the Call Committee will work with the Central States Synod staff to ensure that those processes are followed.
Thank you for your support, understanding and prayers as our search for a new pastor continues.
In Christ,
Dave Luethy for the Call Committee

Mission Site Profile Draft #1
Attached to this email you will find a copy of the proposed Ministry Site Profile (MSP) that the Call Committee has drafted for your review. Please review this document, as it is the method by which we will provide an initial snapshot of our congregation to prospective pastoral candidates.
There will be two chances in the next week for members to meet and discuss the contents of the MSP:
1) This Thursday, October 20th at 7pm in room 123; and,
2) Sunday October 23rd, from 10:15am, up until the start of the second service.
We hope that you will be able to attend at least one of these meetings. However, if you're not able to make either of these meetings, please feel free to forward comments or suggestions to the Call Committee chair - Dave Luethy - at dbcsluethy@sbcglobal.net. We ask that you provide these comments no later than October 28th so that the Call Committee has time to consider them and possibly revise the document accordingly.
The intent is to have a special congregation meeting on November 6th to officially approve the document. Details regarding that meeting will be published soon. Please do plan to attend on November 6th, as we will need to ensure that we have a proper quorum so that the vote is official, and we can move on with the next steps in our call process. A final version of the MSP will be distributed in advance of November 6th meeting for all to review one more time prior to the approval vote.
Your support and prayers for this important step in our call process are greatly appreciated.
You Matter to God, You Matter to Us!

The Central States Synod Call Process Guide
Calling a New Pastor. What is a “Call?” A call is one element in the Church’s seeking and following God’s movement into the future. The Lutheran call process is unique because it is an effort to discern what God wants for the local church and for the whole Church in order that the Gospel may be proclaimed and the sacraments administered in accordance with the Gospel. Below are the steps to be followed in this important process.
The attached document provides a guide that the Central States Synod recommends for a congregation.
